Iroquois S/N X-116 was the only such engine fitted to an Arrow airframe (RL-206) prior to the program cancellation on Feb 20, 1959. After cancellation, the engine was shipped to Bristol Aerospace in The UK, where it was eveluated and test run. Bristol recorded thrust readings of over 20,000lb dry, and 32,000lb on reheat. (Afterburner.) These were world record thrust levels, held by the Iroquois until 1966, when Pratt & Whitney developed the J58 engines for the SR71
"Blackbird" (38,000lb in A/B) It would have been interesting to have seen what an Arrow-II would have done with two Iroquois engines fitted. Likely the pilot could not have stayed in max reheat for long, as the plane's skin would have overheated. Top speed in an Arrow-II would have approached Mach 3.

We are slowly evaluating the engine, and starting literally at the nose cone, on the long road to reassembly. The nose cone was dented in a few spots, most of which have been taken out. One remains elusive, near the tip, as this area is double layered, and tough to work on. Will get it out though!
